A feast of RL action

A FEAST of rugby league for players of all ages will be on offer at Barrow Island’s Rating Lane home tomorrow.

RUGBY LEAGUE

Touch and master rugby festivals will be held at the ground – the third in a series of six events sponsored by Barrow Sports Council.

They will follow mini rugby games at the ground in the morning, and will also form part of men’s health week.

Previous festivals at Walney and Hindpool have proved a success and it is hoped this weekend will be no exception.

The touch competition – open to mixed teams of players aged 14 and upwards – will run from noon until 12pm, with the masters competition running from 2.30pm until 4pm.

Touch rugby is one of the only forms of the game where adult males and females can play alongside each other, and it is hoped the competition will encourage more female participation. The masters competition is for over-35s, with both current and former players getting involved.
