Why can’t AFC sign Curtis?

I CAN’T believe I’m reading about Wayne Curtis maybe signing for Fleetwood, who have just been promoted to the Blue Square Premier (Evening Mail, Tuesday, July 13).

Why can’t we buy him? After letting Andy Bond, Carlos Logan and Stuart Tomlinson go, surely we have enough money from the cup runs to sign a top Barrow lad up.
It might even generate money from shirt sales and help with a new roof for the Holker Street end to bring back the atmosphere on cold Tuesday nights.
